Project – The intelligent system for the production of road and maritime transport statistics using big data to shape the country's transport policy (TranStat)
The aim of the project is to modernise the production system of road and maritime transport statistics using large data sets (Big Data), new products introduction (i.e. the development of a methodology for the estimate of traffic volume, transport performance volume and volume of pollutants emitted by means of transport. Moreover, the objective of the project is to create conditions to conduct functional analyses and to manage of transport systems for modern planning and shaping the country's transport policy. As a part of the project implementation, mechanisms for downloading and processing data in real time ("Big Data") and implemented large data sets from sensors such as the Automatic Identification System (AIS) and Electronic Toll Collection System (e-TOLL) will be used.
The project is being implemented by the Consortium:
Statistics Poland / Statistical Office in Szczecin (Leader),
Cracow University of Technology,
Maritime University of Szczecin.
